Today
is 23rd of May,2020. The very day when last year in 2019, the world
largest democracy India came out with their choice of leadership. The majority
of India had once again reaffirmed their trust on PM Modi's leadership but the
only thing which had changed in 2019 electoral results was the amount of faith
and expectations. Despite all the social engineering to stop Modi, the nation
in 2019 heavily rallied behind Modi’s leadership and the victory was even
greater than that of 2014. The political and social groups who had always
disliked Modi and his idea tried all possible effort to at least limit his
influence over voters with all tactics but all had failed.
It
has been around 1 year of this landslide victory and since then India has
developed at many levels which a simple google search may tell you but what
remains same is the hate and anger for PM Modi among several groups which only
intensified during this 1 year.
The
1 year of Modi 2.0 can be viewed as historic which was marked by the resolve to
fix the historical unfixed which seemed impossible before 2019. Though BJP had
always vowed to fix these historical unfixed since long when they knocked
Indian politics but there was a tradition among political outfits to keep
historical unfixed issues alive and gain political dividends out of it. But
Modi 2.0 in 2019 began to challenge this and the very first step was the
revocation of Article 370 from Kashmir which no government in the past dared to
fix, even those who came to power with the majority had also shied away from
for fixing this. This was again well received by the majority of people in
India but this increased the hate of so-called intellectuals, agenda-driven
historians and of course a political class towards none other than PM Modi. To
many of Modi haters, not critics, the argument is revocation of Article 370 is
an attack over the soul of Indian constitution and Kashmir simply because
Article 370 was the idea of Late Jawaharlal Nehru whom they hold tall before
every other idea. However, they had willfully ignored the fact that late BR
Ambedkar, the architect of Indian constitution whom these hate brigade often
use to appease Dalits had opposed the insertion of Article 370. But the hatred
for PM Modi hinders them from accepting this simple fact. Similarly, when laws
criminalizing triple talaq which is instant talaq was introduced, the same set
of people had opposed this citing various reasons and the primary reason was
that this law to be perceived as an assault on the religious freedom of
minorities. Interestingly, the victim from this instant talaq was none other
than the Muslim women’s and it was a concern of social justice which they had
again opposed to defend their appeasement politics which PM Modi challenged.
During
this one year, another historic moment was when the apex court resolved the
long-standing dispute of Ayodhya and after examining all the historical fact
and evidence gave the judgment to restore the temple at Ayodhya. But this
didn't go well with many who hate Modi and this time they even extended this
hate for judicial system alleging them of being compromised and under the
influence of Modi. However, the whole of India displayed unity during that time
and there was no such event of communal conflicts which many had worried.
But
ironically, this blind hatred for PM Modi had suddenly surfaced out wide open
crossing all the boundaries when legislation to grant shelter to religious
persecuted minorities of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan was passed. This
bill was again a historic legislation which had fulfilled the long pending
demand which was in discussion after the bloody occurrence of Partition of
1947. This act of CAA was historic in nature because this act fulfils the
promise of Mahatma Gandhi towards religious minorities of these nations.
Mahatma
Gandhi on 7 July 1947 had said and I quote “Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan have a
right to come here if they do not want to live in Pakistan. The government of
India is obliged to provide them with citizenship, employment, and comfortable
life". These were the lines of Mahatma Gandhi but the Modi government went
ahead and even added Christians in this act to uphold the secular character of
India. Even Nehru-Liyakat pact in 1950 was signed between India and Pakistan on
the same issue but there were no such laws to fulfil the promise of this act in
letter and spirit but Modi government took a daring decision to fulfil this.
But
this step offended the hate brigade which includes historians, journos, social
activists, politicians who work with a definite agenda and they all took to the
street to protest this law whose cause is factually precise. They felt that the
historic decisions on Article 370, Ram Temple, Triple Talaq, CAA is a cocktail
which will propel India towards a Hindu Rashtra, although they all understand
the reality yet they had opposed this because they never imagined that PM Modi
will fix all the historical unfixed which was the breeding ground for their
political agenda. The haters wrongly assumed that PM Modi is just like another
politician who cares for his vote bank but when scenario went against their
narrative, their hate and anger for PM Modi exploded. In this one year, they
took their hate and anger toward Modi on streets with their artificial agenda
and the level of hate was so high that they had used all kind of harsh terms
against PM Modi. Undoubtedly, the hate brigades who hate Modi did manage to
make headlines in the news and foreign media but they had lost their complete
touch from the common people of India.
PM
Modi with his out of the box actions had the history of making haters who hate
him since the time when he was the chief minister of Gujarat and it continues
even today but this may not be enough to stop him. The share of haters will
only increase in the coming years when the government will introduce population
control bill or uniform civil code. The common man will continue to back him
silently and the haters will scream in a try to build a narrative which suits
them.
