Congress-AIUDF Is Right About Saving Assam. Let Us Save Assam From Their Devil Plans.

Elections in Assam are now inching close. Naturally, any elections in a democracy are expected to be concentrated on the politics of policies where voters decide on what a particular party is offering.

However, the last recent days in Assam have seen a political campaign aimed towards saving Assam. True to your guess, the same Congress party which in last 5-6 years fought almost every election on the plank of 'save democracy' has now switched to 'save Assam' rhetoric in Assam.

You may agree or disagree with Congress on a host of issues but on this issue of saving Assam, everyone needs to agree and accept the significance of upcoming polls in Assam which indisputably is about saving Assam.

The only difference is that Congress is pleading voters to save Assam with Islamist political outfit AIUDF. This is almost identical to saying that one wants to cure cancer with cancer itself instead of applying any medicine. When someone brings a problem to solve the problem, how can one find solutions?

AIUDF, Badruddin Ajmal in Assam are synonymous with illegal Bangladeshi immigrants who have altered the demography of Assam and are still trying to alter it at a rapid pace. The trouble with Congress-AIUDF is that they want to keep the name of Assam but brazenly want to alter the soul of Assam. AIUDF was formed with a clear intention to safeguard the rights of illegal Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants when IMDT act which was a pro-Bangladeshi immigrants law was tossed out by Supreme Court in 2005.

But don't ever do the mistake of thinking that political doldrums compelled Congress to join hands with AIUDF. The IMDT act after which AIUDF came into existence was introduced by none other than Congress in 1983. If this is not enough for you to doubt Congress and you still think of Congress as an innocent boy in the classroom, then let's talk about 2006.

When IMDT act was dumped by the Supreme Court, this could not deter Congress from assisting Bangladeshi immigrants and in 2006, Congress came with Assam Tribunals act order in 2006 which had similar provisions as it was in IMDT. Only the name was changed but again, it was scrapped by Supreme Court. Can you see the same Congress which never tried to put efforts in executing NRC in Assam accord tried multiple times to bring laws to help illegal immigrants. It was not a sanyog, it was a prayog which Prime Minister referred in his rally 'Ye sanyog nahi, Ye Ek paryog hai'.

Their goals are multi faceted but one of the primary goals is to turn Assam from a traditional society to an Islamic society where the symbols of the pride of Assam would be reduced to the old pages of history textbooks.

Congress -AIUDF may have forged a political alliance today but they were the part of the same book who's every page includes a plan to change Assam demographically, socially and culturally.

Congress is right, the electoral battle in Assam is principally focused on saving Assam. Saving Assam from Congress-AIUDF and regionalist parties. We need to save Assam from those who want to bring icon Lachit Borphukan and invader Aurangzeb on the same page and want both to be idolized in Assam but the identity of Assam is only with Shankardev, Lachit, not with Aurangzeb.

Let us take the principle of Congress 'Axom Bosauk' forward with ample resilience against the Congress-AIUDF who want to change the soul of Assam forever.
